EXERCISE APP

BIOGEN SMA

A helpful resource that HCPs can share with patients living with SMA and encourage them to take charge in their disease management.

EXERCISE CAN MAKE A
DIFFERENCE

Evidence shows that physiotherapy may have a positive impact on patients with spinal muscular atrophy.1 Exercising, physiotherapy, and stretching routines may help improve flexibility and overall motor function. Maintaining a good quality of life is at the heart of the SMA exercise App.

The current treatment guidelines for SMA by Treat-NMD state that physiotherapy and rehabilitation exercises have benefits for both non-sitting, sitting, and walking patients.2

27 EXERCISES FOR PATIENTS LIVING WITH SMA—

Created by SMA Physiotherapists with Patient Input

Biogen supports the official treatment guidelines for SMA and promotes a multidisciplinary approach as a key element in the care of individuals with SMA.

Biogen is pleased to have developed these exercises in collaboration with physiotherapists Anna-Karin Kroksmark and Lisa Wahlgren from the Queen Silvia’s Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden, and by working closely with patients and their caregivers.
